Choreomania by Mette Ingvartsen

Choreomania is a performance by choreographer Mette Ingvartsen that explores themes of contagion, energy circulation, and emotional interconnection. The work delves into questions such as: Can you choose to open your body to contamination? What does interconnection mean? How can our emotions be collectively adjusted and navigated? How can we integrate the history of choreomanias into our bodies and contemporary contexts? As a group, can we deal with these intense states choreographically, non-theatrically, and even psychologically? Ingvartsen, a 2004 graduate of P.A.R.T.S., developed this piece with the entire Generation XIV group, fully involving them in this research. The performance is a long-term endeavor that embraces choreography and performance, along with the challenges and turmoil of our times.
